Work Permit

Canada has over 100 different work permit options for global talent and employers.

Canada operates the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and the International Mobility Program (IMP).

The difference between the two programs is the TFWP requires a labour market test, known as the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

Navigating Canada's work permit options can be difficult but we seek to make it as easy for you as possible. Walsgroup is a leading Canadian immigration firm with over many years of expertise.

Temporary Foreign Worker Program & International Mobility Program

The Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) allows Canadian employers to hire foreign nationals to fill labour shortages in Canada. The International Mobility Program (IMP) promotes Canada's broad economic, social, and cultural interests.

Employers looking to hire under the TFWP need to complete the Canadian government's labour market test, known as the Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). On the other hand, a foreign national does not need an LMIA in order to obtain a work permit under the IMP.
